Yeadon, named after the village where the Leeds and Bradford Airport is sited, is napped to succeed here. He has had seven runs under his belt, three on Good to Firm, two on the polytrack at Wolverhampton, one on Good to Soft and one here on the Fibresand. My Speed Ratings for these performances are I think very revealing.
Good to Soft 67 Fibresand 64 Good to Firm 60,39,51 Polytrack 56,54
I deduce from these figures that he is suited by a softer surface and is suited by the Fibresand here at Southwell.
Point To Prove is the only horse with higher Ratings but they were achieved on Good to Firm and on the fast polytrack surface at Kempton and he ran no sort of a race when encountering softer ground for the first time at Nottingham on Wednesday, so I have dismissed him.
Angie's Nap will have her supporters, winning here on her last two outings and recording a Speed Rating of 60 on each performance and now going for the hat trick and is the obvious danger.
But I am confident that Freddy Tylicki will give Yeadon all the required assistance from the saddle and with the application of blinkers for the first time, to help him fully concentrate, he rates as my best bet of the day and will be punted accordingly.
