Incredibly I went from $170 in chips to $1710, it's fair to say the standard of play in very poor. I would never have been able to come back like that in a more expensive tourney with better players.
For example I doubled up twice all in with big aces because twice I got called by donkeys on ace rag!!
I wonder why the majority of players still play ace rag, aggressively even. For me they are the WORST hands in poker because they are the lowest EV hands in the game. No one is going to give you action if an ace appear on the board... apart from the guy on a bigger ace!!
Ah nevermind he's certainly not the first TROLL I've ever met!!
In the meantime I'm still trying to get this bank up to a level where I can play decent tourneys cos believe it or not those small buy in tourneys is hard work, a game of pure luck really!
So the next one is the $0.50 tourney in 10mn and let's try to get this up to $15-$20!!

Although I'd also wonder whether you wouldn't be better off adding in $100 cash to your efforts to avoid having to muck about for 3-4 months at this level.
To me $100 to $10,000 is just as impressive and proves the point - without all the tedious low value free-rolls.
Actually Gooner you may be right here, spending months trying to get to $100 is probably a waste of time especially for a player who's already got a bankroll. I'm also now at a stage where I can consistently churn a small profit from poker although not major numbers.
But there's something about starting from 0 which appeals to me. So I'll give it another few weeks and take your advice if I struggle to get anywhere.
I was doing remarkably well at the begining of the tourney but lost 2/3 of my chips AA against 99. Loads of chips pre-flop and I simply couldn't see the set he flopped.
But I have recovered bigtime since, currently on 7.2K, about 2K above average and 208th of 897 players with 603 places paid.

I've made the money here but my stack has suffered. I'm on about 2/3 of the average ranked 299th of 542 players at the 2nd hour break and guaranteed a cool... $0.92
constructive criticism not allowed then gooner i take it all right to be called a clown by a clown is it this is a messageboard where everyone has an opinion i thought the man plain and simply dont no poker in my opinion but hey good luck to him chasing a dream that a pro took 6 months to do and that in a lifetime he will fail to do
