Interesting. Regulary someone always pops up hoping that now is the time for a draw system (no offence meant mate ). I myself am very interested in those kind of systems but hitting on draws is quite tricky. Look how strangely the EPL began with quite a few draws in the first few rounds and everyone was asking, where are the draws? Then in recent rounds they have been pouring in , and with no question not very welcomed by most punters, but the bookies will be very happy .
Now, to the matter at hand. Just for the fun of it I did a little research on the draws in the group stage of CL 05/06 - 08/09:
So what do these stats tell us? NOTHING ! No trend no nothing . Also we need to take this more further back so please only use this for fun . However, you might conclude that the change of 10 draws or more are very slim, the odds for 8 or 9 draws would also be long, 5-7 draws we could surely see and based on the average 3-4 draws are highly likely but 1-2 is a possibilty you shouldn´t forget, but 0 draw is very unlikely.
So my conclusion: Find four drawish games and test your luck
CSKA might get something at OT. Many players missing at MU and also they didn´t impress against Blackburn. Another thing is that they are pretty much already through so a draw doesn´t matter at all. @5 I think it´s worth a small stake.
Lyon @2.5 i think is quite a good odds. Many players missing at Liverpool and they haven´t exactly been impressive in recent games. However, i think it was the last season they lost in the first 3 rounds but then came back to win the last 3. Still i dont see this happening again. Lyon for me.
I think Bayern are overpriced here, I was expecting a maximum of 1.72, not 1.80. They didn't play THAT badly against in Bordeaux and I thought Luca Toni looked fantastic up front on his own, he didn't play against Stuttgart at the weekend and I'd expect him to grab a goal against Bordeaux.
With Robben coming off the bench, I'd expect maybe a 2-1 or 3-1 win.
I don't normally like saying a team "has to win" but Bayern really, really do so my 2 bets will be Bayern at 1.80 and maybe a bit of Toni anytime at 2.25.
Sounds a bit daft but Rangers to beat Uriceni. 4.00 is a great price (this sounds familiar). Seriously folks the first tie was a freak result, Rangers can go to Romania and snatch a win.

...I see that there will be plenty of Bayern backers tonight...as I have said before, Bayern without Ribery and Robben are a mediocre side IMO...I have decided not to back Bayern until those two are back...they really lack creativity and are unable to unlock defenses...
...Bordeaux are a decent side, they have shown they can get results (draw in Turin) and I certainly think they are capable of getting somthing from this match NO BET for me...

Still I think Bayern can sneak the win here, saw Bordeaux against Monaco and to be honest the home win was a very lucky result. This is a must win for Bayern and its a matter of experience here, and Bayern is the most experience side.
...I was considering doing a high stakes double of Barca + Arsenal...
...but I'm reading that the weather conditions in Kazan will be pretty harsh...it is expected to be between -1 and -5...does anyone have any more information about the weather conditionas...if there is snow and the pitch is in poor condition Barca will not be able to impose their game of posession football...
...I think this is crucial information, so if anyone knows more please let us know...based on this info I will decide my bet!

I don't think Real will lose this...especially after being beaten at home...despite some decent results for Milan recently, I still don't rate this team...Real, although in a bit of a crisis themselves, and the kind of team that really can lose to anyone, but also beat any side out there, I still think they have far more quality all over the pitch...
...with the surprise element gone, I think Madrid can even win this...I have 3.00 for an away win, and 1.50 for Real not to lose...I will be taking both bets...
Real still missing Ronaldo, but still have plenty of players that can decide a game like this...
Real not to lose, confidence 8/10 Real to WIN, confidence 5/10

This should be an obvious home win and combo material...Marseille not in the greatest form but if they fail to win this, with remaining games against Real Madrid and Milan away, wont stand much of a chance fo qualifying...
Marseille have Lucho Gonzalez out and they will miss him as he is important, but otherwise have a strong line up of Brandao and Niang available, and Morientes as back up...
Zurich of course stunned Europe with that 1:0 win at the San Siro, but I don't think they can repeat their heroics this time around...
Marseille to WIN @ 1.30 Confidence 8/10
I will play a double of Marseille + Real x2 at odds of almost evens...

Man Utd without Ronaldo is not the same team either...my point is, Real still have players like Kaka, Benzema, Raul and Higuain that can make a difference...
...that's why I am backing Real not to lose with medium/high stakes and Real to win with small/medium stakes...

I will agree that they wont lose twice from Milan, but still Real hasnt a very good history record playing away in Italy.

As far as I remembered, Spanish teams hardly brought home 3 points. Most they got was a draw.

Juventus should win this match couse the other two opponents , meet tonight face to face ! This is a great oportunity for them to take the lead of the group , and make a big step towards qualification ! Still , they`ve only beat Maccabi "1-0" at home ! and last match in Seria A they lost at home with Napoli .Not really convincing ! Also the last two away matches in championship they won at Siena "1-0" , and lost ! with Palermo "0-2" !
Maccaibi... don`t know much about them neither , but I saw the match against Juventus and they have shown that they know to play football ! With the home advantage , I`m pretty happy to back them to get a result ! Juventus has a little list of injury... Diego also missing , but Del Piero back !
Punt Juventus.

...Juventus SHOULD win this, but for me the odds are way too short and let's not forget the Italians struggled to beat Maccabi at home...Juve are far from impressive and are also inconsistant...they also have alengthy injury list...if Diego is out, that will be a huge blow for Juve
...Juventus are the most likely winners here, but I would not be at all surprised if the home side managed to get a result here...
NO BET for me...
