He's position raising you, the BB, from the small blind. It's perfectly standard play and perfectly justified given the stack sizes and the value of the blinds and ante (360). He's risking 1000 to win 360 with J2s which may very well be the best hand here as it's slightly above average here. He probably feels there every little chance you will have a hand to call him with (he was wrong on this occasion but if you had J5o you'd be dominating him and there's no way you could call so he can beat most of the hands you could have and would also force you to fold Jack high and Queen high. I'd probably only call with Ace high and King high).

He can't really fold to the re-raise here (another 250 in a pot of 1635). So he calls. He's dominated pre-flop and he's a huge dog after the flop. But he get really lucky donkey style here with a runner runner flush.

This is a perfectly standard bad beat here. Nothing shocking at all. It's ugly play from him (and probably not the smartest thing) but there are angles to justify it (like most bad play in fact). Now if you can't take those beats you probably shouldn't play poker. I get several of these every week, if not every day!!!

Oh and if you knew with what rubbish I raise the BB with sometimes, you'd think I had joined the ranks of the donkeys!!

Well well well I'm deep in a tourney for the second time today. 65th of 94 players down from 2133. Not in great shape but perhaps something interesting is on the cards in that $11 rebuy 78K tourney.

This is where bad luck is supposed to strike as it did earlier in the day where the donkey (not even in the blinds) couldn't get away from his A10 calling my JJ re-raise all in of another raiser in earlier position. In fact he insta called and I went out in 64th place.

Better luck here I hope.

oooppps not today, out in 77th place.

The button pushed all in with 1010 and I called with AK suited in the small blind. He flopped a set and rivered a full house.

OK I've got a big stack this time in the $5 rebuy. Tournament chipleader (4x average stack) with 359 players but still very early days. Let's see if I can go deep in this but in all likelihood I will.
Thumbs Up

Yeah you've gotta realise this is an average. Yesterday I flopped about 10-15 sets... I know I multitable like mad but still that's quite an incredible rate. Sometimes I can go days without getting a single one.

what do you mean an average? 11 per cent is 11 per cent every single time the cards are dealt Big Grin i don't ask that i flop sets all the time, i know i can't. i am complaining cause i lost to small poket pairs flopping sets too many times Big Grin that were a lot of money for my league

I can't see why he called the initial raise to 60, OR the re-raise to 140. He's putting almost 10% of his stack in. Admittedly it's early, but still not a good reason to be playing T5. The re-raise on the flop is understandable (thinks he might be leading, and is against any Ax that would re-raise, though behind to most pocket pairs). The check-call on the turn is odd, because it's as though he's ruled out the possibility of a flush/pockets. The call on the river is either stupid (pretty much a case of "oh **** it"), or he knows you have nothing (somehow). I'd like to know why you thought that re-raising with A6o was a good idea tbh. i'm not a fan of Ace-rag early in a tourney.

i was trying to learn and apply the "super aggressive" theory, which in fact was working pretty well for me. but super aggressive or not there is no reason to follow the size of those bets, especially when he has to go all in. i generally don't play A-low so hard, not only early, but also late in a tourney

because he is known to go all in with rags, as was the case here. and for the love of god, it's common fact that QQ is the third most powerful hand. so it makes perfect sense to call an all in from a donkey player with the third most powerful hand.

you know, everyone is ready to criticise here, but i don't see anyone else posting here, maybe you are all winning... i am definitely not. in fact i'm tired and bored of losing hands where i'm favourite, i am trying to exploit position, make or call value bets and i'm still losing. like when i call the desperate all in of a guy with K-2 and lose with A-3 before the money. ffs, it's 65-35 for a reason... maybe i have to apply the standard internet poker style, all in with every crappy hand i get, regardless of position and everything.

Not criticising but you have around twice as many chips as 2 of the players left and you have no need to call for all your chips whatever hand you have.

You should even fold AA in that position.

Double or nothing is all about not losing chips rather than winning as many as you can.

2 days ago i started playing sit n go's a different way after watching how the guy who turned 100 into 10k played and watching some training videos im trying a new style.

I thought i was quite aggressive but from these studies i was far from it.I wasnt getting my chips in bad enough, which is something you have to do it seems as i often watch these succesful players going all with hands like 7 3 off suit.
The reason for this would be position play and based on their stack and others around them.
Alot of players will think this plays are incorrect, but the maths make it correct.

So far im only 10 dollars up after playing around 70-80 5.50 sit n go, but being up after how bad im running im quite pleased with.

Its depressing having so many beats but then have a look at the guy who made 10k.
He was playing 12-16 dollar sit n go's and had bad runs where he would lose 1k in some sessions, but because he kept to his believes he didnt tilt and made that back and much more.

I started with 200 dollars, ill let you know if anything exciting happens like me going broke of me doubling bank.We will see if this style really does pay off.
