Some cracking matches to look forward to today, here is my brief analysis of this afternoons games : -
Maguire v Harold
After coming through a very tough match yesterday, Stephen Maguire now faces Dave Harold who is certainly not out of his league in this event. Harold has proved this week that he can hold his own against the best players on the circuit and should not be underestimated. But still you have to make Maguire a hot favourite as his ability is incredible and the way he fought back yesterday against McManus showed that he could go all the way in this tournament.
Recommended Bet : Stephen Maguire to win (1.28 WH)
Higgins v McCulloch
Another tough match to call as McCulloch continues to impress with some superb efforts so far and he could prove to be a handful for Higgins today. Since 2007, Higgins has not been in the best of form and although he has been made the favourite to come through this encounter at odds of around 1.50 (Betfair), I would certainly not get involved. Instead I would be looking at the highest break odds and Higgins could just about pull this one off at 1.61 (Bet365).
